One amazing year together :)

September 6th was our One Year Anniversary! The first thing we did when we got up was eat breakfast and pop in our wedding video :) Yes I know it's cheesy but, it was fun to relive the perfect day lol. After that we went out for lunch and to the pet store to look at puppies lol. I tried to convince Eric we needed another one but, it didn't happen haha. We had to rush home so I could start getting ready for the evening. Eric was very secretive and wouldn't tell me where we were going or what we were doing. So I got ready with out a clue of what to wear ( NOT COOL) haha. So we hit the road to San Diego. We pulled up to the harbor and started walking towards a big ship :) We were going on a dinner dance cruise for the next 3 hours. I started towards the ship and realized that the ramp I had to walk on was almost vertical lol it didn't work so well in my 4 inch heels, it was a pretty funny sight watching me try to climb up that thing lol. Once we got on we got escorted to our table. Eric got us a special table with decorations and an amazing view ( I felt very special ) He also got us a bottle of champagne for our table and truffles on our plates :) They served us a five course meal and each course got better and better. After dessert the music started playing and everyone started to dance. The DJ announced that it was our anniversary and started playing our song. I was very surprised because most people around here have never heard Texas Country lol, that's when Eric told me that he called ahead to make sure they had our song :) It was very romantic and so much fun. I'm pretty sure we were the only ones 2 stepping lol but we had a wonderful time. The food was amazing, the dancing was great, and the sights we saw were beautiful. It was truly a perfect end to a fabulous day. Eric outdid himself to make it a night I'll never forget.
One down, 99 to go lol ;)
Love and miss you all,
Eric and Kyra

Sweet Sweet September!!!

On September 1st my sweet Husband finally came home to me. I don't think I got a minute of sleep the night before he got home. The tanks left the ship at 1 to head back to shore. We weren't supposed to go to base until around 4 to see them because they had to clean all the tanks before they could come see us ( I don't understand why they wanted to torture us like that lol) i just figured 3 months was long enough. Well I left our apartment around 12:30 so I could go watch them drive up. Needless to say, I was a little anxious to see my husband. I got there way too early because as you know, the military is very rarely on time lol. I had to sit in my car forever but, it was well worth it when I saw that first tank round the corner to pull in. Yes I started crying right away but, it only lasted a few minutes lol. After they finally pulled in, they went to the cleaning station and got to work. Me and 2 other girls decided to stand and watch them clean behind the gate instead of going to the grounds where everyone else was at. It was fun trying to spot our husbands in a sea of marines that are all wearing the exact same thing. Every little glimpse we got just made us that much more excited. it wasn't too hard to spot Eric, he was pretty much the only one with glowing hair lol. After standing there for about 3 hours they finally started to make their way towards the gate. At this moment I had chill bumps and tears in my eyes. It was like a movie when we finally saw each other, I sprinted up to the gate ( in my dress and heels I might add lol) and he ran up to me, dropped his bags, and picked my up off the ground. I swear I didn't let go for like 30 minutes lol.
That day was truly one off the best days of my life and nothing could ever top that moment when I finally got to hold him again.
Love and miss you all,
Kyra

Finally!!!

Hello everyone,
I know I know, it's been months since our last blog. I'm sorry, my life just didn't seem as interesting while Eric was gone so I didn't feel like updating lol but, my sister informed me today that I should start writing again :) so here it goes.
I guess I'll sum up the three months I was alone to start. The month of June was very difficult for me and also pretty boring so I won't bore you with that. When July came around things got much better. My momma finally came out for a visit and we had a blast. We did lots of shopping, went to the beach on the 4th and had a BBQ with some of my friends that night. We got to watch some amazing fireworks and ate some great food. Then we did some more shopping lol. One day we up and decided that we wanted to go to VEGAS :) (luckily it's only a few hours a way) so we loaded up and hit the road. We did lots of gambling and lost some money lol but it was a great time. I finally got my momma to drink a little but, she still didn't have near as much fun as me haha. She got to stay for 10 days and it was truly a blessing to have her here with me. About 2 weeks later my friend Rachel came to visit for a week. We went to the zoo, the beach, did more shopping lol, went to a pirate themed birthday party, and ate out A LOT :). At the end of August I decided to hit the road and go to Texas. I stopped in the lovely town of Muleshoe first. I got to see my wonderful in laws for a few days and I got to see some old friends. While I was there I ate at the amazing Leals 3 times (I know your jealous) Kaydence went with me and I discovered she is the worst car partner ever. She just slept the entire time and didn't keep me company lol. I think Mark likes her more than me lol he was so excited to see her, and hated to tell her goodbye lol. Kaydence didn't know what to think of uncle Cooper. He sounds just like Eric only he's twice his size lol and it really freaked her out. After I left the Washington's I headed to Lubbock to see my brothers. I took them out for lunch and later that night we went out dancing. We had a blast!!! The next day I got to see my Aunt Nancy, Uncle john, and my cousin Bayli. Kolby and I met them for lunch and had a wonderful time catching up. After that I got on the road to Lampasas to see my momma, sister Kayla, brother Tyson, and my favorite little man in the world, The Rylanator. There are no words to express how cute this little fart is. We went shopping AGAIN lol, watched some movies, played a little poker, and just enjoyed being with each other. Rylan is the most entertaining thing in the world lol. He makes animal noises, plays tag ( but only if you chase him lol) he loves bath time, he'll give you kisses, he steals big boy hats and tries to wear them lol, and so much more. After Lampasas I loaded up again and went to San Antonio. We took Rylan to a safari, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. We got to feed a buffalo and Rylan freaked when he touched it's tongue lol. The zebras pretty much attacked us, they kept putting they're heads in our window to get food and just when we thought we got rid of them, they would pop up behind us lol. We saw some amazing animals and Rylans favorites were the ducks and the goats lol. He quacked at the ducks and chased all the little goats around. We also went to the park to have a picnic, play on the jungle gym, and feed the ducks. Rylan liked to eat the bread himself instead of give it to the ducks haha. On the 29th it was time for me to head back home :( I was sad to leave my family but, I couldn't wait to see Eric again. I packed up my bags and hit the road back to California. I got home around midnight after 21 hours of driving ( yep I drove the entire way without stopping) I only had a couple of days to get things ready for Eric :)
I'm sorry this was so long but, I had a pretty exciting three months lol
Love and miss you all,
Kyra

This past month

It has been FOREVER since we blogged. I'm pretty sure we might be the worst bloggers in the world lol. We have had a lot of things going on this past month. To start off, Eric finally turned 21! haha. We went to the gaslamp district in San Diego and had a blast. We ate dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and it was delicious and fun. We went to the house of blues, a few other bars, and a club opening (we got to cut in line everywhere :) lol) Our favorite was probably Double Duece. They had a mechanical bull and it was hysterical watching everyone ride it. Sadly I couldn't convince Eric to ride, but it was still a lot of fun. We stayed at the Sheraton and had a beautiful view of the marina and we were just minutes away from everything we needed.
There was also another big celebration in our family this month. Our little nephew Rylan turned one! Eric was not able to go to the birthday party because of work :( but there was no way that was going to stop me from going. Kayla had no idea I was coming. I may have told a little white lie to make her belive I couldn't be there lol. There were defenitely some tears when I got there. We all had a blast that weekend. We went swimming, ate some amazing food, got to see the Rylanator walk, and just enjoyed being around family. He got tons of presents and more love than any baby could ask for lol.
One last thing we got to celebrate this month was Cooper signing with the Oklahoma Sooners. The family is estatic and Cooper couldn't be more excited. We love googleing his name and reading all of the wonderful things people have to say about him.
Other than that we have been working and hanging out with our friends. We celebrated Cinco De Mayo with cheap margaritas lol and we had a Beach BBQ saturday. Work has been going really well for both of us. The family I work for is going on a cruise next week so I have the week off YAY! :) Eric is supposed to leave June 11th :( so he is starting to get things ready for that. They say he will be back Sept. 3rd so lets keep our fingers crossed. The days change all the time so there are no guarantees yet.
Thats pretty much everything that has been going on recently. Love and Miss yall!!!

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

So I just realized that we haven't blogged in a while so I just wanted to update everyone on whats going on now a days. I have really been enjoying my new job. The boys are great (most of the time lol) I got my 1st taste of the 3 1/2 year old (Matt) yesterday and he was quite a handful lol. Peter (the baby) is really good. He is a little chunk and really cute but, he makes me really miss my little Goober back in Texas :( Mike (The 6 year old) isn't there very long but he is a sweet kid. Betsy thinks that he might have a little bit of a crush on me lol. Besty is amazing, she is such a sweetheart. She gave me a Wii today when I left CRAZY!!! It made a weird noise so they got the boys a new one. She said it worked great and then just gave it to me lol Eric and I both were hysterical. I guess thats all thats been going on with me.
Eric hasn't had the best week. He had to have some skin cut out of his mouth last friday because there was an infection. Before that he had to get a small pox vaccination so he can deploy :( He says it's really itchy and he has to keep it covered constantly so I don't get it. And to top it all off, he had to have all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed yesterday :( I guess there are a few positives though. He gets to eat ice cream and shakes all day, he doesn't have to go back to work till Thursday, and I rented him some movies so he can watch them all day :)
The past 2 weeks we have seen 3 movies, The Last Song, How to Train Your Dragon, and Date Night. Eric didn't really enjoy The Last Song and I didn't think it was quite as good as the book but, it was still pretty good. We both absolutely loved How to Train Your Dragon lol and Date Night was pretty darn funny.
I guess thats about it. We love and miss yall :)

A day at the Beach and Seaworld

Me, Eric, and a few of his buddies went down to the beach on Firday for some grilling and some fun. Eric's company had the day off Friday and luckily so did I :) We grilled hot dogs, burgers, chorizo, and steaks. We didn't get in the water because it was freezing but we all had a great time. My 1st California beach experience was a ton of fun and I hope we'll go again soon. Maybe next time we can go down to Del Mar and Take Kaydence to the dog beach :)
Eric and I decided to go to Seaworld on Saturday. It was so much fun and we got to see so many amazing and beautiful animals. It was about 80 degrees so the weather was perfect, plus we got in free because he's in the Military (I'm really enjoying these perks lol) 1st we went to the dolphin encounter and they were incredible. Next we went on a ride to the wild artic where we got to see penguins, polar bears, whales, and seals.
These little guys were hilarious. We got to watch them swim, slide on the ice, and fight for fish.

The Polar Bears really weren't all that exciting lol. Sure they were beautiful but, they pretty much just slept and played with some wood ;)

The Whales were one of my favorites. We got to watch them eat, play, and swim. They were AMAZING!

The seals were pretty funny. There was a field trip and we got to watch all of the little kids feed them. They would clap and yelp for food and the kids really loved it.

We also got to feed the Flamingos and the Bat Rays.

This is a picture of the flamingos fighting over some food lol.

And this is me feeding the Bat Rays. They felt really slimy lol and Eric wouldn't go anywhere near them haha.

Last but not least, We went to a Sea Lion show and it was histerical. They acted out A DAY AT SEAWORLD. Sadly, they made fun of the tourist and how excited they get when experiencing Seaworld lol but we didn't care, we had a great time.

After Seaworld we went to Chili's for some dinner (Thank you Mark and Lynda for the gift cards lol) and after that we went to see Hot Tub Time Machine. It was pretty funny. Not as great as everyone made it out to be but, we still enjoyed it. Then on the way home we stopped by Krispy Kreme and got some doughnuts to take home. They were amazing as always and now I feel like i need to run about 20 miles lol.

We had a blast this weekend and we can't wait to experience more of what California has to offer. We love and miss you all <3

Life in California

So Eric and I decided to give this blogging thing a try lol. We are loving it here. The weather is amazing. It has been about 80 degrees all week so shorts have been a must :) We think Kaydence is enjoying it too. We took her to the pier for the 1st time a fews days ago and she tugged and pulled us along and explored everything within her leashes reach lol.
We are getting to experience so many new and exciting things. There are so many tourist attractions around us and we are slowly going through them one by one. We went to Universal Studios and walked along the famous Hollywood Blvd. on our 6 month anniversary and we went to a Cirqu De Solei show this past saturday and it was fantastic. I think we're going to make a trip to the beach this coming weekend. I can't believe we have been here 6 months and we haven't been to the beach yet. There is something seriously wrong with that lol. Don't worry, we are still Texans at heart lol. Californians are just plain weird ;)

Eric is working hard for us and doing great at work. He is a crew chief and he is working his way towards becoming a Corporal. I am so proud of him. Sadly he has to leave me in May to go to South America for 4 months but I keep telling myself that it could be a lot worse.
I recently got a new job as a Nanny for 3 little boys YIKES! lol. The family is great and the kids are just adorable. I start on Tuesday so pray that it goes will ;)
I guess thats all for now. We love and miss yall!!!
